Riding on the success of its India-specific models like the FZ series and the YZF-R15, Yamaha India has gone one step further as it launched its muscle-bike model, the 2009 VMAX, in New Delhi today.

In order to extend the brand’s performance-oriented image in the country,Yamaha India has introduced its iconic VMAX in India. The VMAX has always been regarded world wide as a two-wheel equivalent of the big American V8 cars. It will be Yamaha’s third international model to be sold in India at select dealerships and like its other two big bikes, the VMAX will also be a CBU import. Until now Yamaha was selling its flagship, YZF-R1 and the street-fighter MT-01 through its select dealerships and now the VMAX will also join its siblings to share showroom space with them.

The 2009 VMAX has gathered accolades across the globe for its thrilling power delivery and its extremely scary straight-line acceleration. Powered by a large 1679cc V4 engine, the new VMAX really separates the boys from the men and with its 200 horses as well as prodigious 166.8Nm of torque, this beast has been known for munching a quarter-mile drag strip in less than 11 seconds in stock form. The new VMAX not only has a bigger engine and more horsepower, but it also packs in more technology making it an able handling machine even with all that raw power thrown at the rear wheel.

Like in the foreign markets, even in India, the VMAX will demand extra premium over other Yamaha models, and rightfully so, because the VMAX is truly a one of its kind iconic motorcycle that has no direct rival or any competition. Its mad acceleration and crisp power delivery has scared even the most daring riders but at the same time, there is nothing else on the road that can turn heads so instantaneously, like the new VMAX.

Even though it is a CBU import, the pricing of the VMAX has been kept quite competitive in comparison to other imports available in the country. The 2009 VMAX will make your wallet lighter by Rs. 20 lakhs (Ex-showroom, New Delhi).

Yamaha India has once again roped in John Abraham as the brand ambassador and the model-turned actor was present at the launch of the VMAX in New Delhi. Yamaha has also unveiled special edition models of the FZ-16, FZ-S and the Fazer to celebrate the on-coming festive season. Available in special paint scheme with white alloys and a dash of blue, only 3000 models of these special editions bikes will be produced. The Special edition FZ-16 is priced at Rs. 66,500, while the FZ-S and the Fazer special edition models are priced Rs. 68,500 and Rs. 73,500, respectively. (Ex-showroom, New Delhi).

Bajaj’s Pulsar DTS-Fi 220cc motorcycle priced at around Rs 85,000.

Bajaj Auto has upgraded the Pulsar family with the launch of its high-end bike Pulsar DTS-Fi 220 cc. This advanced variant of popular Pulsar combines new features and advanced technology.

The 2009 edition of Bajaj Pulsar comes without fuel injection technology but yet it will produce more power at 21PS. The new Bajaj Pulsar DTS – Fi 220 cc will reach the top speed of more than 140 kmph. This two wheeler from India’s second largest two-wheeler manufacturer comes with single cylinder 4 stroke air cooled engine. This motorcycle has a maximum power of 21.04 @ 8500rpm and maximum torque of 19.12@7500 rpm.

Bajaj Pulsar DTS-Fi 220cc will be available in all contemporary black theme as well as can be availed in 4 different colors. The recently launched Bajaj Pulsar DTS Fi-220 cc reflects a major difference from other Pulsar bikes launched by the automaker. This change is the downgrading of Pulsar model from Fuel Injection to carburetion.

What’s hot with 220cc pulsar?

The most important feature of all is the fuel injection mechanism, which is responsible for the quick throttle and the linear power curve. The Bajaj Pulsar DTS-Fi is the first Indian motorcycle with an oil cooled engine. Together, they make for a potent combination. The Hero Honda Karizma as well as the Pulsar DTS-Fi weigh 150 kgs, and the extra 3 bhp of the DTS-Fi as well as the power delivery characteristics make this an easy Karizma-beater.
